i will be the first one to step up and say i have ridden behind my friends fishing boat. my normal pull didnt take his boat out that weekend, so i figured i would try something new, and i actually had fun. i like to be out on the water, i dont really care what kind of boat i am behind. mike, you would be a rockstar if you gave that dude a pull. i have given a couple of pulls to one of my friends from the fishing boat and it has made his day. everybody needs to share the love!

sorry if that comes off harsh, i dont think ronia meant anything by the picture and i wasnt making a direct comment at anyone. just trying to say "share the love"

I'd ride behind a canoe if I couldget my friends to row fast enough. No shame in not having a nice boat. Great to see someone having a great time.

I once heard this guy critize someone for riding behind an outboard. So what? As long as your having a good time.

Any day on the water is a good day.

i rode behind a pontoon my first summer, granted it was a tritoon with a 200 hp outboard, it was a pontoon none-the-less, and i had a blast.

Thats a step up from my first setup. Thats the 15 footer, I had a 13 footer with a 25hp Evinrude. That was my crew's primary wakeboard boat from 88-92 or so. Landed my first backroll behind it off of the d-up. We even ran a sony boombox on the rear bench loud enough to hear our Gn'R while we rode. here she is. 1967 Boston Whaler 13'

I rode behind a 16 foot 70hp zodiac for 4 yrs. And quite a few times we rode behind the marina's 14 foot 50hp boston whaler. Only in the past two yrs have we been riding behind real boats (a sea ray and then a Malibu). I'll try to find a pic of the zodiac.

You can always find something to do on any boat. If I had no other choice, I would be practicing my switch riding on that boat. Awesome pic of the lake, BTW...

I used to waterski and kneeboard behind an inflatable with a 15hp outboard (tiller control as well, that made for some interesting control issues!). Then was upgraded to a 25hp and that was a big step up, we had 3 kneeboarders behind it at one stage. Had so much fun.

At the beginner level you really don't need a massive wake.

Looks like they are having a blast, and that's what matters. By the way the driver looks just like my Dad right down to the yellow hat.

awesome thread. yep, if i'm on the water, i'm ok. i regularly skate behind my bro's fish/ski and learned to board behind it. if it will pull a rider, its a good boat.

We were staying at Lincoln Rock State Park on the Columbia in late June. This guy and probably his dad were out one morning. The kid was getting more air than most I've seen, despite his boat. Got to give them credit. We later tried finding them to offer him a pull, but they were gone.

Some can do more with less than most of us can do with a 50K boat. A bit humbling.

I know in one of the magazines in the last year or so, they showed Collin Wright's boat and it was a 17' Whaler that he payed under $3000 for. I am not sure if that was his wakeskate rig or what.

I love it when these guys get out there. My friend Chris learned 10 inverts behind a 17ft glastron before his parents finally broke down a bought a proper wakeboat. I can be done. Gotta love it.
