We're out on the lake without enough wake to drop the rope, so we decided to try somethng a little different. We bumped up the PP to 18mph and the wake cleaned up ALOT and made a nice little spot to surf(holding the rope of course). We could do some really cool floaters and cuts and stuff like that. Probably the most fun we've had on a surfboard. Does anyone else do this?

I've surfed as fast as 14.7 mph on a Trick Boardz Mojo XL. That was WOT and that was a free ride - no rope.

My friend decided to be an ahole and see how long i could hang onto the rope and he got up to 42 and I was still standing strong. I couldnt see diddly squat. He even tried ripping a turn but I held my ground. I eventually fell and it hurt a little.

Hugh my buddies and I and did that probably about five years ago before we were really aware of wakesurfing. We'd wax up an old directional hyperlite and throw big bottom turns into floaters on the rooster tail. Good fun if you don't have a boat you can surf behind.

I tried speedsurfing a couple weeks back, I had the driver whip me around at around 25mph. I let go of the rope and carved into a roller catching a good 4ft of air on a 4"4 surf

Have boards specifically built for that. www.shredstixx.com "The Original" Did 83mph a few years back on the Pit Arm of Shasta. A bro's got the video, I will try to get it. When I let go I coasted about 1/4 mi. Never been tempted to break my record. Scott Pellaton does 120+ barefoot!! Told him about my 83 on a surfboard and he just laughed at me.

Stroked flat bottom. No wake at all. 83 ain't squat, skiers 130, barefoot just a little less than that....and they do not hold their breath or wear oxygen tanks. Still have the board we built for it if anybody wants to borrow it. Plenty of boats around here that go much faster than that, I'll hook you up. Here's one better, bring the pink to your boats, winner takes all.

This kind of boat. With the original engine it was recorded running 130 mph, currently tops out at 80ish. They barefoot at speeds as high ass 80 mph. Can you say I hope there are not tree stumps in the water? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jzydBFjP-JE http://www.barefootcentral.com/SFTR_USA_2006DragBoatWorlds.htm

You better be Jerry! Hey Jerry, when I was a kid growing up in Lodi, I swear I could remember hearing the sound of Hydro's did they ever have races around this area? Ed, is that the hull that was at the SBC?

Right, the Red/White/Black boat was at the boat club. The green boat, the Miss Mandela, also has a down pushing wing that he can bolt over the engine.

High speed riding on surf boards, not surfing. So if you don't have a high speed boat how are going to reach these high speeds, jet pack?

Does anyone know what Edward (bigshow) is talking about, high speed riding on surf boards, not surfing??? I am confused. I thought this was a thread about surfing behind boats at high speeds

I understand. "High speed riding on surf boards" means riding a surf board while holding a rope at a high speed. Jerry said he did this at 83 mph. "High speed surfing" means riding a surf board behind a boat with out a rope at a high speed. Nashville said he saw two guys do this at 24 mphs.

I take out my 5'10 fish and surf with a rope at about 18-20 mph at about 60' of rope length pretty accurately simulates some of the waves we get around here

Monday morning I had some bro-in-laws in town and we decided to do some line riding after we were tired from wakeboarding. At about 21mph I was ollieing into the middle of the wake until the fin busted off the HL Landlock. Their fin system is the worst. That is the second fin I've lost off that board - and this time I glassed them on with some surfboard resin. Anyway, it is a lot of fun - Jerry was onto something when he designed the first Shred Stixx. Good times!
