I want to find a pontoon like that to buy for cheap so bad. I've been planning on something like that for a while so that I can tow it around my cove and terrorize my anti-fun neighbors.

Thanks guys! We can't wait to hit it. For the wall ride, we're going to use ply wood to cover the frame and then put something slick on it. Anyone got any good ideas for the surface of the wall ride? We found some 1/16" HDPE for $28 in 4x8 sheets, but its going to add up to quite a bit of money. We also played with the idea of covering it with the decking, but it would be really heavy and put a lot of stress on that side! What else would you guys use for the wall ride that would be a slick surface and not brake our wallets? Thanks, Pierce

Check out the stuff they use on shower walls... its a white smooth material, flexes, made for showers so resists rotting, and is fairly cheap

The shower stuff comes in 4x8 sheets I thought about vinyl flooring but its soooo thin and usually not made for damp situations it will rot crazy fast. *Hijack* - Forrest, what do you do that you use solidworks? *end*

The shower sheets they are referring to is called FRP I believe. However, it is pretty expensive if I remember correctly. They sell them in 4x8 sheets and are around 30 dollars a sheet.

Nick, Hope you can make it down one of these weekends to ride Phil, The pontoon is 20 feet, and the rail that we have right now is at 36 feet. Forrest, the trailer is what came with it. It is some kind of custom built one. It works great for what were using it for.

I don't know what it is called, but it is used for flooring and it is tongue and groove. It has 50 year warranty and is glued a lot thicker than plywood so we figured it would be better than just plywood for the base. It was $21 for a 4x8 sheet which was cheaper than treated plywood anyways. We split it three ways so it wasn't too bad. It has a pretty slick surface, but we were thinking about painting fiberglass resin on the wood sheets. It seems like it would be really slick when it would dry. Has anyone ever used that? I guess the only problem we could see is eventually over time it would crack off. What do yall think about using resin on the surface?

we thought about that..but decided trex was the better option...even better than trex is HDPE, if you look around you can find it in different thicknesses.

yea, we were looking at the HDPE, but it is just so expensive, I don't think we can do it. CZimmerman, Thanks, let me know how that resin turns out on the advantech, I'm anxious to see what it would do or how it would hold up?

so it seems like you guys have a ton of weight on one side...do you know if it will stay flat and float or if it will roll to one side? Just a thought

Mike, Yea, we thought about that. If it does start to lean hard to one side, we have some extra barrels lying around that we thought we would strap to that one side to make it more boyant if we needed. It floated pretty even prior to us putting the advantech on the side, but we have considered that.
