"complain complain complain.......start suggesting solutions"

OK I'll suggest a solution. The solution is for the government to stay the @#$% off my back and out of my wallet!

Right on Peter. All we re asking is t stop punishing us for something we are not contributing to. This earth has been here a long time ad will be here for a long time. Stop stealing moneyb over man made glbal warming. In the 70s it was global cooling. I remember ind gens and solar panels..how quickly they disappeared...it is al hype. An it is going to hurt water recreation. Seems like this current admisinstration is hell bent on destroying your freedom to board and u don't give a crap.

Scott - Mel Martinez introduced legislation to EXEMPT recreational boaters from having to acquire a CWA permit simply to operate their boats.
Also, The EPA is appealing the 2006 U.S. District Court for Northern Calif.'s ruling in favor of environmentalists that forced EPA to begin regulating incidental discharges from boats by Sept. 30, 2008. That is the only reason recreational boaters have not been slapped with this requirement.
Stay tuned...}

The government environmentalists shut down almost all of the good wakesport spots on the intercoastal waterway in Brevard county Florida with no wake zones to "save the manatees". Most manatees die from the red tide (by mother nature) or the power plants (main financial supporter for save the manatee groups). Boaters kill only a small percentage. They could have separated some areas for wakesports, but I believe their real intent was to eliminate wakesports. Our ski club fought hard to keep our tournament site, but they shut that down also. I bet there is technology out there to prevent boats from hitting manatees, but that would challenge their no wake zones. I don't trust environmentalists in Government. Their utopia allows only canoes and kayaks.
