Ok, I've been trying to sell my rims on craigslist and of course I've been getting the usual scammers and some "serious potential buyers" Well most of the buyers end up jerking me around then tell me they don't have enough money........I've had enough of it therefore I want to get back at the last guy that did it to me. I still have his email address and I'm looking at signing him up so he gets a ton of junk mail, I just don't know the name of some sites to go to so I can add him to the list. Anybody know of any? Or other ways of getting this guy back? I also have his cell number.....

Really smart to advertise that you're going to do this on a public forum. Nice work.

understandable about karma....believe me I do. Elizabeth, I highly doubt that an uneducated individual such as the one that was going to buy my rims and tires and spells the word because with "cuz" even knows what a wakeboard is, let alone is a member of this forum. Thanks for the input....situation dropped

LOL... Obviously you haven't sold much stuff online. What you're describing is normal behavior for pretty much all "buyers" (aka shoppers, tire kickers, posers, big shots, high rollers, etc). You just need to be firm - first off (this is for craigslist only) email only for the first contact, then be firm on the price, have plenty of pics, then set a meeting place that's close to you - but not your house. You can usually weed out the posers pretty quick if you work 'em over on the phone.

ya know, karma is a bitch but revenge feels really really good sometimes. I had a person deserve a good email smackdown. Sign him up for a few "free" porn sites.. He will get plenty of emails. Sometimes people just deserve it.

Some of the most ignorant people troll craigslist. I sold a 33' Argosy travel trailer on their last yr, I advertised it weighed 6500 pounds. These backwood hillbillies showed up in a 1986 Ford Aroestar minivan sportin a class 1 hitch. I told them you wont make it 30ft with that thing. They looked at me like I was speaking Korean or something. Lots of dummies in this world.

I've had good experiences and bad on CL. Last major Item I sold was my motorcycle. Everyone wanted to lowball, Finally had a guy that seemed serious he agrred to a price but came back asking to make payments on it. After thinking it over, I let him, but the price went up for my time. So, three motnhs later, I had all of my money and he got to finally take the bike home. I thought he was going to flake half way through, but that was fine with me since I already had a grand of his money!

I find if the price is fair, my stuff moves well on CL. We have sold a stack of stuff. One of the funniest ones, is that we had a non-used breast pump we put up at like 2:00 on a Friday. At 2:30 the guy contacts my wife and says he is in the hospital and just had baby. The doctor told them to get a breast pump asap. He drove from the hospital with the baby (on their way home) and picked up the pump.
other than that I move wake boards, boats, rims/tires, furniture on a regular basis. I generally respond to the first email with an email and tell them if they are serious to call me or give me their number.
I sold two boards this week with little communication and no drama or trying to low ball me.
I personal HATE their search engines and the fact you can list your product in different areas, but overall it works well.

despite all of the hassel od ealing with the spammers and tire kickers, its still the best option to sell stuff that would be a pain to ship.

You haven't really described any behavior worthy of revenge.
I hardly get any scams anymore. Mostly emails saying how glad they are to see my post and then point me to go look at some website. I liked the scammers better.

I agree to let it go but also wanted to give you some friendly advise. I to recently sold some rims and tires on Craislist and had a few guys call me and lets just say this thug ganster type said he wanted them and asked for my address, I gave it to him and he asked when he could come by and I provided a time. What was weird is he never called back but the next day my teenage son and his friends were in front of the house when nobody was supposed to be home and low and behold who shows in the street Thug and his women for a lack of a better description. So after that I ended up meeting the next guy in a nearby shopping center and he ended up taking them.
Just wanted to make sure you were cautious about this, I mentioned this to a friend in local law enforcement who stated this is the latest scam they find out when your gone and rob your house and property you were trying to sell.
So just be careful

Yep Buffalow is correct. If its priced right it will move quick. When I buy, I let the buyer know what im wiling to pay before I even call him. Also in my adds I let them know a phone number and call me response gets deleted instantly. If someone is really interested they can ask legit questions through email and its easy to weed out all the "potential" buyers. Ive sold wakeboards, a car last week, wheels, bikes etc etc all very simple transactions.
