It might not be your steering cable? It could be your rudder assembly binding on something, or perhaps a "kink" in the steering cable somewhere (too sharp of bend) adding the resistance. My buddy has a Launch 24 that I drive sometimes, the steering is effortless. Incidentally, this question isn't specific to boat model, as I believe most (if not all) the wakeboats are running the same helm, same style cables, rudder box etc.. Before you go getting crazy and ripping the boat apart though, get some dry graphite lube (or steering cable lube) in an aerosol. Get to both ends of the cable, and spray it generously on there at the extended positions and then work it back and forth several times, then repeat..
