I'm still trying to figure out the HSE. Per everyone's suggestions, I set it at 1,400. Comes up real nice. When I back off the throttle it just cuts off to the low limit. Is that what its suppossed to do or should it go down nice and steady?

It's supposed to cut off right away its normal.

Yep sounds like its working perfectly. 1400 is pretty low, you may get the volume kicking back up as you apply the throttle to turn around and pick up the rider...

You can play around with the attenuation dial to select how low you want it stay on when it does kick down (hope that makes sense)

Yep that is normal.

I have found that setting it at 1800 rpm works the best for me.

Thanks I will bump it 1800 as it does pop back up when turning around. Sittiing at sonic burger right now as we drive to Laughlin. Will be on the lake in the morning.

That is what mine does as well. By the way, how do you set the rpm. I would like to change mine to a higher setting, as my music comes up to load when I circle back arround to pick up my rider. Sorry for the high jack, but it applies. thanks

Make sure it is ON then when you are at your desired RPM press and hold the program button until it blinks (the music will also pause for a second). Easy as that. Then wherever the big volume dial on the HSE unit is will be how low the volume level will go when it turns down.

Dave, I need to reset mine too. I think I will just put perfect pass on the setting that gets the RPM's to around 1800 (good advice Marc). Then apply the setting as Nubu says.

Here are the instructions

OPERATION
o To turn Control On press and release the On/Off button; the On/Off LED
will illuminate signifying that the RVC is now controlling your audio level.
Pressing the On/Off button again will turn Control Off and the audio level
will be increased to the level set by your head unit.
o To switch between audio sources press the Source button. When the
source button is in the “out” position the Main source input is selected and
the Main LED will be illuminated. When the source button is in the “In”
position the Auxiliary source input will be selected and the Aux LED will be
illuminated.
o To program the RPM level of the RVC, turn Control On by pressing the
On/Off button. Verify that the On/Off LED is illuminated. Increase the
boats RPM level to the desired set point. Press and hold the Program
button until the Program LED starts blinking. Once the Program LED
begins blinking release the Program button. When the Program LED stops
flashing, programming is complete. If the program LED turns solid for
approximately 5 seconds after flashing this indicates that there is a problem
reading your RPM signal, and the previous programmed set point will be
maintained. If you see the solid illumination from the Program LED make
sure that you have an analog RPM signal present at the gray wire of the
wiring harness. Note: The audio level will be muted during programming.
The RPM set point can be reprogrammed at any point by repeating the
procedure detailed above.
o To adjust the attenuation level, simply rotate the attenuation knob at any
time. In order for the attenuation to be audible, the RVC must be in the
Control On mode with the engine RPM level below the programmed set
point

The price we as consumers are willing to pay vs cost of the product was not a profit winner for the company.
