need prop help

last night on the loading ramp our trailer fell into a hole and we didnt know it so the right side dipped lower than the left. so when i pulled the boat up to the trailer the prop hit the bricks. it bent the tips of the prop back on all 4 blades about a quater of an inch. its an 07 mastercraft x-2. i dont even know really where to begin...do i need a new prop? im thinking i do so would a used one work? should i go brand new? what size do i need? and can i do the labor myself? im reallllly trying to stay away from the service shop due to the ridiculous wait times so im hoping i can do this myself...any advice would be greatly appreciated

Depending on how bent the tips are, a good prop shop should be able to fix it no problem. You don't have to buy a new one, you can easily buy used if you want to. We mangled one memorial day weekend. Dropped the prop off at a local shop on a tuesday, had it back on the boat that friday afternoon. He also straightened out the strut we bent. He did have a rebuilt acme in the number we were after as well as a few others, so ask when you talk to the shop. We just went ahead and fixed the prop we had. I can ask around down here for shop's in FTW that are reliable if you need help finding one.

Also, call up ACME if you are looking for an entirely new one, they are very helpful when it comes to finding a prop for what you are doing.

Eric at OJ props is who to call. He will charge around $100 or so for repair and have it back to you in a week. It will be good as new. OJ props is what came stock on your boat. I have done this and I highly recommend it. They balance it to factory specs.

the prop info is stamped on the inside of the prop (engine side) around the hub. Of course, you could opt for a more aggressive prop while you're at it, or they can heat and reshape yours while you wait. No big deal.
