So we have a '93 Ski Nautique but the wife wants a bigger boat with an open bow. Additionally, the kids want to wakeboard more.

This boat was recently listed: http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/boa/1085890616.html

I looked at it today and it is fairly clean. seats, cushins are fine, minor surface gel coat cracks. A bit of standing water due to lack of attention (not used recently, hence the sale).

Thoughts on the price, 18K?

Thanks in advance.

It doesnt sound like a bad price. I like the fold down tower and the tandem axle trailer. Which to me is a big plus.
Just make sure it runs good and check over everything else.

I just saw that boat on CL today. Seems like an ok deal. There is a 2002 Supra Launch on there I would rather have for the same price.

In this market, you can get a V-Drive for the same amount of money. Unless you are in love with the handling of a D-Drive, I bet you and your wife would love the comfort of wrap around seating.

Jason - Yeah the wife would love the V-Drive; bigger sunpad and wrap around seating. I do like the D-Drive balance and the ability to change an impeller on the water/on the fly if needed. Harder to do in a V-Drive.

X2 on that Launch Trevor, they are awesome boats with a load of room inside.

Nothing wrong with DD's, especially the Launch's. I was in process of working a deal on an '02 Launch when the wife decided Vdrive. I don't mind the togetherness, DD's are just easier to work on.

That is a good one as well Rod. I would take that over the nautique but would be a toss up on the Launch. Most of that has to do with the Supra being 4 years newer and the boat being a lot deeper.
