Pictures of amp mounting locations please...?

Had my amp mounted underneath the observer seat, elevated about 1.5" off the floor to prevent water damage. I didn't really think about water dripping onto it, and thats what happened. Now I need a new amp, but was curious how to mount it to prevent any further water damage. Thanks a lot for your help.

the best location always seems to be in the staorage area behind the passengr seat. its dry, open for space and air circulation and seems to be the general place most people put amps. use a backer board, like 1/2 to 3/4 inch mdf and then you can clean it up with some matching carpet so you dont drill into your boat. im not an installer i just have friends that are and im sure the pro's will chime in here tomarrow. but heres mine anyway...

Mine is far from pro, but this is before I cleaned up all the wires. You get the idea.

I did with some hardwood and stain all the wires run behind and come out at the end. I thought it was a little easier to hide and this is under/behind observers seat.

Bryan, Matt, and Ewing, thanks for the pictures. Matt, I was wanting to mount my amp like the ones you have pictured. What is that material that you used to mount your amp to? Also, I see the "L" brackets you used on the bottom, but what did you use to secure the top? Thanks a lot!

Behind the observers seat

I want to mount the amp up on the side of the storage compartment, but how can I do it without risking drilling through the side of the boat, other than how Matt did it. James, it looks like you have your amp mounted to a board, but how is the board mounted to the side of the boat? Thanks

Mine is 1 inch Marine Plywood, resin dipped, then covered in Grey felt. With the angle and position transferring most of the load to those L brackets, I didn't need anything to keep the top in place.

Try using the L brackets on the bottom and a strip of "hook" velcro on the top against the carpet. Like Matt said, most of the load is held by the brackets.

My board screws right into I am guessing another board that was factory mounted.

Here is what i did, but it deponds on how many amps you are running, and what size they are! I wanted to keep it simple also for resale!
