Hey this might be a dumb question but do boating licenses work like drivers licenses where you get one for a state and it is valid nation wide or do you need to get a license for each state?

your state has boat licenses?
careful because crossing state lines while being towed by a boat is a federal crime with strict penalties...i might be mistaken though.

Andy please tell me your not serious? Ive never heard of such a thing and to tell you the truth it sounds completetly rediculous...you have a website link to this federal law? There are many lakes that border state lines and you cant tell me everyone stolps tubing, skiing, boarding when they cross the imaginary line in the water?

Yeah, I board at Lake Hartwell on the GA/SC state line. There are no strict penalties for crossing the border while towing someone. We do it all the time.

I do hear there's a strict federal law against power turning though. Feel free to spread that information wherever you see fit. You can find the Federal Law for that at... well... it's just there, all right? Trust me.

ok thanks for the info here is proof that NH sucks enough to make us have licenses even though most of the people driving don't really abide by the rules anyway http://www.boat-ed.com/nh/course/p4-3_whomayoperate.htm
