Jump is 69 and trick is 680 one pass

that's cheating I think I could run 41' at 32, they don't let you do that at 16, only for the old guys!

Hey I'm 24 and still run 32mph, what's wrong with that... I just need to ski more with you Nick!

I suck - 15off at 30mph. Going to working on increasing the speed. By the time I get it up there, maybe I'll age out and only have to hit 34.2mph . I guess I have a good excuse however, because I only get to hit the slalom course about 1 a month and only get to ski maybe twice a month. Kinda hard to get better when you don't practice!

Brad, I was just talking about shortening the rope past 15' at less than 36, nothing wrong with running at the slower speed, you just can't shorten the rope!

I don't know what I'm doing yet, I don't have to work until Wednesday. I think we're heading down there tomorrow for a little riding.

Sorry for the late response, I was on vacation last week.

15 years ago ( 30 year old at the time ) I was able to get 5 @ 32. Usually running 6 @ 28.

Now, HA! I'm lucky if I see a course. Last year I was able to get a couple 6 @ 28 passes.

So what are the standards for skiing... Speed verses classes? (as far as the INT is concerened) Isin't their a wide body ski class that is limited to 28MPH? Anyone know all of the classes and what the speeds are?

oh, yeah, I would appreciate it if no one says anything about me being over here in this section... Thanks! :-)

When I was 16-17 I could run 22' off, 36 mph pretty consistently. I think my best was 2 or 3 at 28' off. I haven't run a course or been on a slalom ski in about 12 years now.

Tony, the INT League website show all the rules. Not all the competitions will have all the categories due to participation.

And yes, they have the wide board sets for us old farts ;) It's 28-30 mph IIRC.

The INT league bases the divisions more on ability level, not age. Once you've reached a max speed for your age, then you get put into the advance class (or another class bedending on age)and start to shorten the line. So I am 31 yrs old and might be competing against a 20 year old and a 55 year old if we skied at the same ability.

See the divisions here

The AWSA league bases the divisions strictly on age, so I am competing against all men 25-34 year old, regardless of their or my ability.

Here is a link for the AWSA Rulebook. Look on page 25 for the division listings with min and max speed.

Matt 6@28 off is awsome at age 45. I'm 42 and just getting back into after a 12 year lay off. My old best (No tail foil) was 3@35 off.

This season is shot, I only skied 1 time this summer. Next year I plan on seeing if I can get back some of my old form. I purchased a newer model ski as my old Maha ski is an antique. Maybe the new technology can make up for a tired old body :-)

New PB over the weekend! Full pass at 34, 15' off! Chris Sullivan adjusted my bindings and fin at US Championships and it made a huge difference! Never ran my 34 before, previous best was 3 @ 34... Sat. I went out and ran my 34 3 times in a row! 36 mph here I come!

Congrats BB! Are you also pushing with the front foot? ( new style skiing ) It helped me a lot.

I'm not sure which foot I push with??? I don't think about it...

A good balance between the front and back helped me tremendously. Basically, tucking the knees together kept the ski flatter in the water and allowed the edge and nose to turn the ski rather than just muscling through it. ( a tip from Jennifer Leachman in days gone by )
