Here's the new www.chattwake.com boat.
2010 Super Air Nautique 230 Team Edition
Basically every option except for full throttle
6 wetsounds xs-650 interior speakers
2 wetsounds Pro 485's
1 wetsounds XXX 12'' sub
1 wetsounds ws420 eq
2 wetsounds syn 2 amps
1 wetsounds syn 1 amp
2 XS Power Batteries 3100 series AGM batteries (fits in factory 230 footprint)
z5 rack
Tandem Boatmate trailer w/ 18'' KMC Rockstars
2 1000lb fly high ultimate surf sacs (fill up the rear hatches over factory ballast)
1 fly high triangle bow sac (I didn't want to lose the storage in the front with the integrated sac)

Tell me what you guys think! I'm stoked with how it turned out. Thanks to the guys at TRC Yachtsales in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Wetsounds, XS Power Batteries, and Boatmate for hooking it up fat once again.

I know that there are folks with some pretty crazy stereos out there, with alot more amps and speakers than I've got, but I couldn't be any happier with the way this particular wetsounds setup sounds both in the boat and while riding.

Soooo tight!!!! congrats Chattwake - I think thats the best one soo far...
What motor you runnin under the hood?
I like that steering wheel - is that your own wheel you swapped with the MOMO?
Old     (chattwake)      Join Date: Jan 2010       05-24-2010, 11:44 AM Reply
I've got the ZR409.

The wheel is something I saw on a 210 at www.n3boatworks.com. It's made by Nardi - some hand crafted italian job. The bolt holes match the factory holes on the steering hub. I wanted a black windshield (you get a polished windshield with the full throttle package), but I wanted something other than the base steering wheel so I picked up a bushed finish nardi wheel. I love the look and it's great for driving because it's skinnier than the oem wheels. I can see the gps much better.

Thanks guys!

Hairbandude - unfortuntately, (or fortunately - depends on how you look at it), I'm going to be in Cancun for a week with my wife's family from Saturday to Saturday, so I won't be out locally for Memorial Day.

Chat, sick sick sick. I love the white boat with blacked out rims. Thanks for the support of Wet Sounds. If you are on facebook, jump on our page and post the pics. I am sure others would love to see it.

The 485 pair looks like they were made for that tower. They flow so well with the lines and the shape

Nicely done! The black trailer really lets the boat "pop" out.

Tim,

I'll tell you one thing, the install was not bad at all for everything I put in. The xs-650's dropped right in the factory holes with no cutting, drilling, etc. It's so funny that one xs650 weighs more than four of the stock polks. The interior speakers absolutely slam in the cabin. Also, I simply cannot believe how much bass that XXX produces when driven by that syn1. Sitting in the spotter's seat with Throw It Up playing makes your damned teeth rattle.

I can't wait to get some pics of the boat early one morning sitting on some glass with the friggin water rippling around the hull from the bass. Guys, I've been a car audio freak as long as I can remember, and for one 12 in an open air environment, the XXX sub really surprised me with its performance. It's like comparing a set of 485's to factory tower speakers.

The ws420 is an absolute must have too in order to controll speaker levels and crossover settings on the fly.

Getting the 485's to fit with a z5 on the FCT3 is a bit tricky, but you can obviously do it. If anyone needs to know what I did to make them work, just pm me.

Thanks for all the compliments guys, I'm just stoked to have a boat again!

Beautiful boat! I am partial to all white! I think tinting the windows would really set it off.

Looks like you could use a hitch that didn't have quite as much drop to it. From the angle of the picture hooked to the rig, its sittiin pretty low at the tounge.

Chat,

I hear you on the XXX. I wish everyone could hear the new demo boat and what dual XXX sound like. We metered the boat and it hits 150dB. This is louder than competetion car spl systems with walls of woofers in a sealed car. All in an open air boat!!

Got to do the video. I am going to take some this weekend. The RZ2 will make the water look like it's boiling becuase of the bass.

I've got the 2 XXX and Syn1 combo in my boat. Anyone in the Western KY area is welcome to stop by and hear it. They're unbelievable....

Geeze, talk about ruining a guys day. I finally get to leave the desert today and all my clothes are packed. I see this pick and bam! Pants are ruined.

Just kidding, but that is a sweet looking ride.

Thanks guys! I appreciate all the comments. I thought the white/white combo was a bit risky, but it turned out great. This is my favorite boat so far. I just hope I can keep it clean!

If you were able to keep the black clean, you'll have no problem with white!

Tim---

quick question...is an SPL measurement in a boat really comparable to those measured in SPL comps, at certain burst frequencies, w/ the db mic set on the car's dash or driver's seat? just seams like no an analogous anecdote...
