As in butt checking/falling away from the boat?

Are you bringing your hands up?

I would imagin from not having seen video that you are pushing off the wake and not popping straight up. There is a big difference between popping and pushing off. Pushing off you cut through the wake and push-off of it, more like slicing it and pushing. Make sure your using a progressive edge and riding up the wake to get a nice clean pop off the wake. That should eliminate the board going up towards your face.

hope that helps.

Post some video.
