I ride a Balance 140 with cupped fins on the sides. I am having a problem with cutting my fingers on them when grabbing the board. The most common is when I don't get around far enough on a stalefish (tailfish), this usually results in a gash in the first joint of the middle finger next to the palm.

I'm thinking of riding without those fins. How will that affect the way the board rides? Is it a good idea?

I guess any suggestion on how to quit grabbing there in the first place would be good too :-)

Ha, re-read the title - that's removing the fins, not the fingers
