we have family down here and my uncle is getting married. so we are going down there for that time period. and going to try and ride everyday.

ive spent alot of time on mead but never this time of year. i know the water is around 55 which means no wet suit required... BUT is it generally flat this time of year?

55 no wetsuit? Your braver than me, I don't take my wetsuit off until upper sixties.

I think you'll just have to look at wind forecast for the area.

What's the deal with 48?
Old     (lfrider92)      Join Date: Sep 2008       03-07-2009, 1:42 PM Reply
48 is about where im cold to be in it. i live about 10 miles out side of san Francisco and i go out skim boarding and boogy boarding in the ocean all the time. and i dont like wearing a wet suit in it. it feels like it restricts me. and especially on a wakeboard. i mean im in the water for a minute, then im out of it riding. i feel awkward riding with one on.. I have a 7mm that i use for abalone diving. and thats the only time i use it because im in the water for around 2 hours

thats funny. and the air temp there is in the 70's this time o year.i used to live there

but i cant move the way i want to. im sure you guys know the elastic feeling from a wet suit. and 7 mm. its hard to move in.

David,
How big are you? I have an XL you can have if it will fit.

a 7mm is DEFINITELY too thick.. a 3/2 would be ideal and doesnt restrict. But have fun out there... it should be you and the fisherman.
