I just got a new 02 X star with the 330 hp engine. I am not very familiar with boat motors and what can be done to them but I was wondering what I can do to get some more power. It is fine with only a couple of people but with the ballasts full and a 4-5 people it needs some more power at my elevation. I am looking at a different prop but is there anything else I can do. I know a small block chev motor is about the most upgradeable thing in the world but I am not sure about efi marine variants

Talk to the dealer about how much power your tranny can put up with, that would be the weak link. Also you might want to make sure what ever you do is not going to screw up or counter act the EFI mapping.

I would recommend trying a different prop/pitch before tinkering with the motor and causing yourself a lot of headaches. With the right prop, 330HP should be plenty. What is your stock prop? I would call ACME and get a recommendation from them.
