We are trying to plan a trip to the delta and are overwhelmed by the number of places and waterways in the area - where is the best place to stay with rv camping for the best water and fun on the delta?

Tower Park is cool

Tower Park is an excellent suggestion, and they have a full service marina/restaurant/bar, board shop and camp/lessons available on-site. T.P. is a KOA that has gone through a number of recent renovations and is very well taken care of. It's not the most popular area of the Delta, further from the east bay so depending on your time of year and day of the week it can be far less crowded.

I would check out Tiki Lagoon.

Nice, grassy campgrounds. Great hidden smooth water spots that are way off of the beaten path.

Tower park is nice too.

Tiki Lagoon is another good place. It's a little closer to Turner Cut, which is a long slough. It'spretty good this time of year. It get blown out in the afternoon.

I would suggest that you try and find somebody who knows the delta to hop on your boat with you...many a people have gotten lost in its vast labrynth of waterwways.

If you want the South Delta and famous sloughs like Victoria, Grantline, Railroad etc then Orwoods is the place to go.
