The added surface area gives u more pop. It doesn't make the board any harder to control in my opinion. Swing weight is minimal. If u look at the size of most pros, they are midgets. 5'5"-5'9" 140-170lbs avg. A 138 to Oli Derome is like a 148 to me. Go up a size, u won't regret it!

I agree. I don't understand the stigma against a larger board. I'm 193lbs 6' 2" or 6' 3" (depending on the measuring tape) and have ridden just about every board size they've made in recent years (even the "fish" series liquid force shortly produced). Although I couldn't tell a major difference in pop between a 137 and a 141, I did notice a huge difference in my stance. Since the 141 could allow my legs to be further apart, I felt like I had way more control and was much more comfortable. I think the more comfortable I felt, the more pop I got. Buy what feels comfortable even if it means you're not following the sizing charts 100%.
