I've tested a couple props so far and I think we have determined that a larger 14.5" prop just doesn't work that well on my boat. We are not sure why but the 1235 just didn't do much for my boat other than raise my fuel bill!

We were surprised at how well the stock 1631 prop performed once we put it back on after having the 1235 for a month or two. ACME thinks it may have been a hull clearance issue as the 1235 was only about 3/8" - 1/2" away from the hull.

I tested another 14.5" prop, a 5 blade 2245 M39 which actually got the boat out of the hole a little better than the 1235 (almost 2 seconds faster) but did not hold speed very well. I only ran the 2245 for a day as it was closer to 1/4" from the hull. The RPM's were much lower on the 2245 as was the fuel consumption but it was just too close to the hull.

We've been waiting for a couple weeks for them to finish up a new 5 blade, the 2407 (13.50 X 14.50 VL5B 1.125 .060). I just received it today and can't wait to put it on tomorrow for when we go out on Sunday (barring a complete rainout). I'll report back on Monday.

I have tried several different props 1235, 2313, and others.I settled on the 1873 14.5X12X150cup. Better fuel consumption and performance for my boat.

I have tested the 1235 14.5x14.25, 2245 5-blade 14.5x14.5, 2313 15x12,143314.25x14.25. The 2313 works the best but the fuel bill is a little higher. I ahve a MB 21 Tomcat. I am going to try the 2391 15x14.25 and I am hoping it will work for me and be the all a rounder. Good Luck!!!

Let me know how that new acme works out for you, I am currently running a larger diameter 4 blade acme and I am really happy with it.

Not much. Looks like I have a bent prop shaft. I think we hit something the previous time out at the very end of the day. I was getting a serious vibration from about 8mph - 16mph when weighted. The vibration was a lot less when I ran very little to no ballast so I didn't push it and called it a day a little early.

What I could tell is that the prop held speed very well and it ran pretty low RPM's. The wakeboard and surf wake was very clean and the prop wash for the wakeboard wake was much less.

As for getting out of the hole, it never seemed to really struggle, though it didn't get there really quick. I'm sure the prop shaft and vibration didn't help at all. It kinda reminded me of a diesel truck. The launch was fairly slow and steady all the way up to speed. It never hit a spot where it was struggling to plane. Of course, though I didn't throw a ton of ballast at it wakeboarding. For surfing, I ran normal ballast and it did really well. Fuel consumption seemed to be better than the stock prop.

The boat is at the dealer now, waiting on the quote and insurance to get the underwater gear fixed. I'll report back when it's done in a couple weeks.

Come on...end of the season??? We have at least another 2+ good months of riding left! Although, I will admit that our weekends are starting to get more packed. I'm coaching Tee Ball again for the fall season and I think most of our games are on Saturday.

Actually, now that I think about it John, please tell everyone you know that it's the end of the season, or that the season is over...This is the worst water we saw on the SBR last Sunday so we took a break and let the kids swim:

You don't have to worry about that excuse, the water is brackish works much better and is true in your case.

I'm not sure I'm picking up what you are putting down.

I ran the 2391 over the past weekend and it seem to work fine. Better fuel consumption, but didn't have all the power of the 2313. I spoke with Jim @ACME and wanted to get something inbetween, but has nothing. I think overall I will be more satisfied with the 2391. Just $.02

What are the specs on those 2 props?i

I'm excited to test the 2407 again once I get my boat back. Because of the vibration I never really weighted it very heavy but it showed some promise.

I'm not sure what the torque curve is of the PCM EX343 but it seemed to really stay in the power throughout and gradually increase RPM's. I'm hoping it does the same with more weight.

Rance, how did the 1235 run? Seems to reason slightly smaller diameter and same pitch as the 2391 would be in between the 15x12 and the 15x14.25. Why not have someone pound out a 15x12 to a 15x13, or just add some cup?

I ran the 1235 14.5x14.25 and it did not seem to work as well as the 2391 15x14.25. Jim @ACME seem to the the 15" props give the boat a little more lift in the rear as it takes off.

I am not sure I want to let anyone repitch the prop, but that does not mean it can't be done.

TJ- 2313 15x12 .070 cup and 2391 15x14.25 not sure on cup off top of my head.

TJ, did you get a chance to run the prop again?

No but we are going out tomorrow and I'll report back. The dealer's lead mechanic drove it after the shaft and strut replacement and didn't really like it. He said he noticed a lot of ventilation out of the hole.

Yes! Brandon and the guys at Texas Tige got it fixed in about a week and half. We picked it up last Saturday but didn't get to use it.

We should be there sometime Saturday morning and plan on staying the night and going out again Sunday.

I was looking at the 5 Blade for my 2012 X-30 and contacted the guys at Wakeprops. I have the stock High Alt prop. This is what they had to say:

Thank you for contacting us, Congrats on the new x30! The five blade is going to be less aggressive on the low end than what you are currently running. If you are looking to get on plane faster the Acme 2037 will defiantly get the job done http://www.wakeprops.com/acme-2307-propeller.html This going to be the best option for a weighted down boat and save you money in gas at surf and wake speeds.
