I am roughly 5'7 on a good day, about 165 lbs. I usually ride a 139/140, but I have an opportunity to pick up a 144 board that I really don't want to pass up. Anyone else out there rocking bigger boards at my size? I rode a 143 one time, but it was at the end of the season and it was super cold. I didn't really push it too hard...

So, this is totally my opinion, but for me, as a smaller guy, I do my best to ride boards that are too small rather than too big. My experience is that the performance loss due to the larger size results in an awkward feel.

Yeah, I know what you mean. The 143 felt a little awkward to ride, but I figured it was due to the weather and the fact that I rode a 139 all year. It felt huge under my feet for sure...

Yup. I hate to say it, but let that smokin deal roll, another one will come around!

Could you get it then turn around and sell it for more?

Darin Shapiro rode a huge board for a little guy.TONS of pop with the bigger board. I seriously doubt you'd see any performance compromises in 4-5 cm. I went up to a 144 from a 139 last year ( am 5'11 190) and loved the extra lift and how it felt in the water- tracked high and faster. I took me 2 sets to feel good about the ride- now I love it.
