I snapped a shot of our new hound, yesterday, and thought it came out pretty good... Still saving for new glass... Maybe Christmas.

Nice job Randy! I love shooting that kind of stuff. You really need to start shooting RAW for that kind of image. The following is little on the toasty side, with the original image in RAW one could really make that image sing and keep it looking natural as well. That's just me though I kind of like the Velvia look.

Nick, The truth is you really can't make a true HDR photo with one shot. You can fake it though.

HDR action shots make me want to throw up. Nothing against you Walt because I really do like your work. I just hate the technique in general. Even with landscapes I think 9 out of 10 times it's overkill. Sometimes it looks incredible but most of the time it just kills the organic feel that a good still generates. IMHO people tend to over do it more often than not. People take it to far between the tone mapping and saturation. I have taken a few HDR landscape shots that would not of worked out as a normal photo because of all the varying exposures in the scene. I'd bet most people didn't even know that they were HDR shots.

I missed this shot but wanted to share it anyway because you don't see Golden eagles that often. It makes a bald eagle look small. When it flew it's wings sounded like a bed sheet being flapped.
