It's sick so far! I don't see how they can get some of that stuff on camera. My only beef is that Oprah is the narrator, Morgan Freeman would of been a much better choice.

I only caught about half of it. It would be better on mute. Oprah is way too matter-of-fact.

The first episode was good.

I for one downloaded the Attenborough BBC edition. His voice and delivery > any american.

Thanks for starting this thread. I was unaware of the series starting and have been recording and watching it. It's a great show.

What do you yell when something falls in a dessert? You don't say "timber" do ya?

I think she would get boo'd out of a kids reading at the library. Does she only have 1 tone? I wonder if Discovery knows that a majority of people are ordering the European version for the sole reason Oprah is terrible..

Just watched my first episode last night. Yup, Oprah needs to not talk. Wow. Terrible narration. Morgan Freeman would have rocked it! Amazing video though. Those shots are simply unreal! HD was made for this show.

I thought the show was done fairly well. I too just watched the 1st one but have the others DVR'd. The one thing that I preferred with Planet Earth was that the themes to the shows were better. Not sure if the other ones tighten this up, but I found it annoying to jump from the Jungle, to the sea, to the arctic, to the jungle. I think if they just transitioned from one to the other more fluidly it might be better. Maybe it really is just Oprah making it less desirable.

But after all that I can say is man, we live in an awesome place.

Can't watch it, Oprah's monotone narration kills the series...

Does Oprah really bother you guys that much? Im so in to the surreal footage that I'm not really paying much attention to who's speaking.

I didnt know all of you guys are such successful show directors and producers.

She's terrible. It's like she doesn't know the words that she's saying
