My family is thinking about renting a house on the Delta next summer, but I've always wondered if the water in the Delta is brackish. I would imagine the closer to the coast, the more brackish it would be. What about around the Discovery Bay area? Is it brackish there? I've heard so many great things about the Delta that I would love to experience it for myself.

I look forward to hearing from you guys.

The water in the south Delta is fresh water. It is used extensively for drinking water and irrigation.
