Break out the boat this year and the Perfect Pass screen is malfunctioning. Sometimes I get garbled gibberish, other times screen goes inverted like in these photos. Most of the time it goes crazy then completely blank. It still engages and runs fine, i just cant read the screen. I've done a system reset, has anyone ever seen anything like this happen before? Is there a quick fix or should I plan to replace?

probably just need a new disply, call up the PP people and tell them what's going, i can almost guarantee they will quickly diagnose it for you

Mine was doing similar things. Turned out the connection of one of the wires, at the wiring harness, where it enters the back of the display, had come loose. It works fine now.

Disconnect/reconnect all your display connections. My 08's does that occasionally, normally lose connection. A little dielectric grease on the connectors never hurt either.

Shouldn't need a new display.

not to hijack back my buttons wont work on my display. could this be due to loose wires? everything else shows up fine including speed.

Sorry it took so long to respond DH. Thanks for the advice. Disconnected and reconnected the system right at the harness in the engine compartment. Worked like a charm! I'm back in business, thanks bro.

Great thread here gents. I have a similar problem and was going to start a post, but I think I will try the wires first. My problem is that the display cuts out completely, but PP still controls speed just fine.

Also, I noticed that when i turn the heater on it resets PP. Any ideas for that?

Voltage drop would cause the screen to turn off. My old boat did that, I ran a new + and - from the battery to the fuse panel, worked perfectly after that.

+1 on the dielectric grease. Good preventative.
