Check it out they have used lead at pretty good prices. Might be a great source for smelting or making custom bags.

No way! I have been just googling lead shot to fill a sac. Better prices than I have seen and some free shipping options. I own and operate a brewery, which I promise is lead free:-)

I am planning on putting 100-150 in the bottom of my fat brick and filling the rest with water. If my calculations are correct if I put 150 of lead in the bottom it will still hold 130 or so of water. So 280 pounds in my fatbrick that I put on my swim deck for surfing. Pretty fun to try:-)

I thought you swore off lead? Anyway sounds like a good idea.

Until it falls off the platform and you have 150lbs of lead and a fat brick at the bottom of your lake

Is that really a good price for lead? The pop products bags seem to run less than $1 per pound delivered according to the website?

Am I missing something here?

I have it tied off to the transom, but yes that could happen, and that would suck:-( Scrap lead locally is $1 or more a pound. I like the lead BB's for my sac, I am going to call local gun ranges and see if anyone has any. Pop bags are great, I actually have a few friends that have bags in their boats, but they are steel shot and I would prefer lead just for the weight vs volume. I'm guessing I will put 100 lbs of lead bb's in the bottom of my sac so it's total weight is 235-240.

"I like the lead BB's for my sac"

Did any body else get a laugh out of this statement. I know i'm not offering anything to the discussion but i couldn't control my immature laughter.

Carry on

I just bought 400lbs from Pop Products and can't say enough good things about troy. One bag got destroyed in shipping and he immediately sent out a new one. Comes in a nice bag with a handle. Good guy no matter what. He did say he was going to have some new products in the new year as well.

I think the price of the straight lead isn't better than the pop-products bags...

Gottem, luv em!

Had free lead weights that I packaged prior, but not worth the hassle IMO..
