No, he is not getting Married. Still single

No he did not buy a boat. Still wakewhoring

HE landed his first 3's !!!!!!!!!!(at 80'& 24MPH no less)

Allthough I did not personally witness and have no video, I know Thane's style is only BIG so I am sure they were sweet. I am sure we will get video soon. I have good vid of some of his painfull (looking) big attempts so we can make a nice progression clip.

Thane's progression from clumsy board slaping heelside only rider (no offense Thane) to a rider with some great style who only goes big in one short year has been really fun to watch.

Not to mention he thinks "Rock n Roll is sooo Bitchen". (RBF)

Congratulations Thane, TS or HS?

Congrats Thane!

I seem to have lost my TS 3s. They were last seen June 1998 on Lougee Lake in MN. If found please return to 1465 West 33rd St. Minneapolis, MN. Thanks!

ThaneDogg you stud!
I was there to witness this event, yes indeed, Thane stomped three HS 360's on Wednesday, December 31st. The 3's were landed behind the Blue Malibu, the same boat that Thane landed his first backroll behind.
Congratulations Thane,
Geoff

Thane is da man! I got to ride with Thane on New Years day, and again on Saturday w/Troy. Not only is he landing those 3's, he's doing it with that T-Dogg mad style (kinda looks like a Shawn Watson or Aaron Grace 3)!

Nice job dogg, you look like you're pooping though in that pic or were you concentrating on hitting the 3's?

Man, I got love. Thanks T-roy for posting that pic and giving me some props. I'd also like to thank all the gracious boat owners that have given me pulls over the past year.

Sean - HS man, tried ts and they were pretty crappy. your profile pic is tight.

Todd - sup, TURBO DUDE!!!

Geoff - welcome to the discussion board...FINALLY!

Jeff - thanks man.

Lynsey - I was concentrating on both.

Congrats Thane -

Tough trick - I have never landed one - lots of 270's and even a 450 (haha) but never a 360.

I'm going to give them some more tries this weekend.

That's cool. You seem to be ripping for only riding for a short amount of time.

Once it clicks, the other spins should come easier. Congrats.

Thane. The exact same thing happened to me. I landed my first 3 360s in one weekend and then I lost them for about a month. I was so pissed. You must be going crazy inside. Are you just riding out of the trick without the rope?
Old     (socalwakepunk)      Join Date: Dec 2002       01-12-2004, 4:01 PM Reply
Tell me about it! Lost my best trick in the middle of last summer, still fighting to get it back.

Hey can I say congrats to another local ripper? Tim Jewitt no longer has a Toeside Backroll. Now he has an INDY Toeside Backroll! Good job brudda, way to tear it up!

Not really looking for anything specific, just the day as a whole. Your vids are always really good, just looking forward to seeing it all.

Thanks Jeff and Chris. It felt sweet to grab it. I am working on a nose grab and a nuclear grab on that Toeside roll too. I am sure I could not have dont it if it were not for the INCREDIBLE wake of Jeff's `04 Super Air. Thanks for the pulls Jeff!

Tim - I think it had more to do with those "wakewhore" shorts you were rockin :-)

Hitting a ts/indy/br textbook perfect on your 2nd attempt was just plain sick ! Your riding has really progressed since I seen you ride last year, keep it up !

ok, one magical day I stomped three 3's, then the next several times I went out they were all horrible. I must have had about 40 unsuccessful attempts since that good day. I even knocked myself out one of the 40 unsuccessful ones. Then, last Sunday I went out, and landed one perfect. I'm baffled. But it sure is a great feeling.

The 3's can haunt you. Same thing happened to me for a while. You'll start getting them consistently soon.
Old     (dakid)      Join Date: Feb 2001       01-30-2004, 11:42 AM Reply
Thane, just remember these things...

1. Pop
2. Pull handle at peak of jump
3. Get handle pass
4. Spot landing

Concentrate on these, the spin will come, and everything will fall into place. It's just like when you were learning w2w jumps. Do it enough and it'll become 2nd nature.

I'll add to Joe's comments above:
Don't throw the 3 with your head/shoulders... It will spin you off axis. To start the spin, just pull the handle in to your back hip.

Actually I got tired of pulling on the handle and pulling myself out the front so I threw all that common knowledge stuff out the window. I was thinking too hard, pretty soon I said to myself, "Thane, you 'tard, just do 180, pass the handle and do another 180!" and that's been working out pretty well. I landed a couple more today.
