I want a board that's fast and loose, in the 4'8" to 5'2" range, that will work well on a medium-sized wake (Supra 22 with about 1200 lbs surf-side). I want a board that is somewhere in-between a surf and skim style board... because I like how well my IS boards track, but wish they felt a little looser on the water, like a Phase Five Oogle or the LF Custom Thruster.

I consider myself an intermediate wakesurfer, can slaysh and ollie off the wake, and am working on spins. I'm 5'8" and 170 lbs. I currently own (or just sold) an Inland Surfer Blue Lake and a Green Loogey.

Lets take price out of the equation... whether it's dirt cheap or really expensive, I want to know what all of my options are.

Right now, I'm thinking:
Phase Five Oogle
Phase Five Prop (though I worry it will be too loose)
Grindwater Slaysh
Inland Surfer Swallow
Inland Surfer Sweet Spot
Ronix Koal 5'0"

Lets hear some options... and thanks in advance!

I've had a lot of fun on the Inland Surfer Sweet Spot. Its fast and with the quad set up it was still easy to get it into a lipslide. I would definitely reccomend putting on the 11cm and pankster fins. The ride with that set up felt great and much smoother than the standard set up.

You should also look at The Walker Project 4'5" James Walker Signiture deck. Super fast board and I've seen some gnarly spins and airs go down on that board

I have been riding the IS 4-skim 4.5' and it is very fun, loose and fast, but it is sensitive and easy to nose dive.

I bought an Asylum Boards Mojo and Skate, cant wait to try them! I am 5'7" 165lb

Thanks guys, for the replies. I figured this one would get a ton of responses becauase it's basically an invitation to advertise... I thought the wakesurf board would eat that up. :-)

Mikey, that's the board I ended up buying... I realized the IS 4-Skim Black Pearl "Yellow" (what a damn confusing line of boards...) is a slightly longer tri-fin skim. So basically a skim with slightly more traction. SOLD... Exactly what I was looking for, and found one used from dtw (notsobueno) on here.

Cal, you will love the black pearl yellow. I rode that board a lot this past summer and loved it.

Yeah I was thinking of a larger fin on my board but tri fin would sure be interesting! Hopefully the extra length will keep it from nose diving. I can't help but wonder if there is a way to keep boards from nose diving so much.. Will be excited to see if the Asylum boards deliver on that promise.

You can keep a board from nose diving so much. You need to ride heavier on the back foot. This is not always possible when a board needs to be ridden front foot heavy because the board is not fast enough. A longer board will help or a board that is designed well for your weight and wake size. To long a board will dig into the trough if the transition is steep.
