I am having difficulty removing quick release fittings to put on new bag is there a special tool?

Turn and pull. If that doesn't work I am guessing something is wrong with it.

Were they installed by the manufacturer or dealership. Some places put glue on the threads when they are installing them, to keep them from ever backing out. It is recomended by flyhigh for permenent installations.

If so try a big pair of channel locks, and if that doenst work, id buck up and buy some new ones. So you done ruin your sac (fat)trying to remove them.
