My 10-year-old driveway is cracking. Any suggestions on what I can use to fill in the cracks--about 3/8 inches wide. Also, do I need to put some kind of sealant on the concrete?

I actually am doing mine in the spring. I think you need to clean it real good, let it dry and than either use the flexible concrete "caulk" or mix up the concrete patch repair.

It depends... why is it cracking? Do you have expansive soils, put to much weight on the drive-way, have no relief cuts, live in an area where it freezes and have water pooling under the drive-way, acidic soils that are destroying the concrete, or just have a crappy install or design?

Sam if it was bad install he would have known a lot sooner than 10 years. How bad are the cracks? hairline or large raised cracks?

Another dumb question.... Do you have a large tree near the driveway?

No, water doesn't pool or freeze under the concrete and the cracks aren't raised or too large. I do have relef cuts and no large tree nearby. My best guess would be expansive soil. When the draught hit last year, in combination with a contrast of record rains in the las few months, I have noticed the cracks getting larger. I was hoping I could fill them in now to keep further water and freezing damage this winter. The last filler I put in just washed out.
