Ok, so I have enough money to either get one pro 485 or a pair of Pro-60's. What should I do?

1. Pro-485
2. Pair of Pro 60's

I had a single 485 installed a couple months ago. Haven't heard it on the water yet but can hear it clearly down the street. I started wit the 485 figuring if it wasn't enough then I could add the pro 80's or 60's. It has two 8" speakers. The pro 60s have 6" speakers. I think the biggest difference might be the look and headroom. The pro485 mounts in the middle of the tower as the pro 60's you would mount toward the sides. But like Tim told me its always easy to add more.

I have a pair of Pro 60s on my tower right now and they can be heard clear as day riding 75' off. Just make sure you run enough power to them and you are good to go. My tower does not have enough headroom to use the 485s though so that is why I went with the 60s. I don't really think you can go wrong either way.

Pro 60 pro's: Loud, no headroom problems, easy to mount on any tower.
Con's: not as loud as the 8" drivers.

Pro 485 pro's: louder then the 6" drivers, fuller sound.
Con's: Less mounting flexibility on some towers, may loose headroom or interfere with bimini.

Which ever route you go make sure you do not go with an underpowered amp. Feel free to call customer service at wetsounds and they will be very helpful selecting an amp.

anybody know the mounting dimensions of the pro 60's pro-485's? I'm mainly concerned about how far it will hang down.

I got these from Wet Sounds when I was deciding. I have about 11.5" between the tower and the bimini. The single PRO485 just fits. PRO485 hangs 11"/ PRO60's hang 10"/ PRO80's hang 13". Wet sounds was a huge help in answering clearance and sound difference questions. Hit em up!

What's it like riding in the boat when you have these things cranked loud enough for the rider to hear them? Do these tower speaker do a good job of projecting the music out so they don't overwhelm the people in the boat? Just curious, because I would like to get something that I can hear while riding, but I don't want to over do it for the people in the boat. It would be a waste of money for me if the music was loud enough for me to hear clearly, but too loud for the people in the boat.

pro 485 is goin to project the sound to the rider better and if i had to choose i would go with it and add a pair of pro 60 or 80 latter

Boardcrazy,

IMO, Ive found that the Wet Sounds do not filter down into the boat as much as traditional cone style speakers do.

Again I haven't been out on the water yet so with a moving boat I couldn't swear to it but sitting in the street I could turn off the interior speakers via the EQ as there was plenty of sound coming from the tower. Man, just don't stand up in direct fire of the speakers. My ears rung for a while. In the boat it wasn't crazy loud due to the projection or throw the HLCD speakers provide. I think my neighbors hate me now though! Oh well

board crazy,
Also take a look at wetsounds WS420. It allows you to have two equalizers in one. This way you can blast the rider but not make your crew be deaf.

MOX - Lake Loveland in CO. That is my second boat now but I like the pic so much I kept it as my profile pic. Lake Lovelend is private so I had some great times out there when I used to live in Colorado.

I run two 485s and my buddy runs 4 pro 80s on his malibu. Mine are louder and have a little fuller sound. Either way it will turn heads

Oops.... I read it wrong. For some reason I missed the "I want to" and read it as "i run two 485s but they dont fit on my 06 22v tower very well i dont think"
