I'm looking for an intermediate/advanced wakeboard for my boys. They are 85lbs. and 130 lbs. They basically like to go hard to the wake get big air and land in the flats and also do grabs. We are using a CWB prodigy 136. They don't really like it. They like my old faster boards 138 O'brien Flux and 136 Hyperlite Lavelle honeycomb. What would they like? I'm thinking a used 133 Liquid force Trip or Hyperlite Byerly. Help a Dad out.

The Byerly is going to be the opposite of what they like now. Especially if they like faster boards. I can't speak on the trip because I have never ridden one.

Do you have any shops near that allow demos? They should try a few before you buy.

Faster boards would be a CWB Pure, Flame, or pre 2005 Absolute. Hyperlte Motive, Temet, or pre 2006 Murray or Belmont. Liquid Force Substance and Watson are favorites also.

You should probably get them both boards. A 136 is a little big for a 85 pounder.

Trip is awesome, I still ride one. But sounds like your wanting a TFD/3DS.

The Trip lands very hard in the flats--gives me bruises on my heels. I'd recommend the CWB Absolute 135 Platinum. 2005 could probably be found for a reasonable price. I weigh 155 and rode the 141 last year. Your younger boy will grow into rather than out of the board. Good Luck
