Been using a Canon EOS Rebel G SLR and Quantaray 70-300 zoom lens. I am getting a EOS Rebel XS Digital SLR. Can I use the old zoom lens on the new digital camera, or do I need a lens specific for digital cameras?

EF-mount lenses with work on both rebel G and your new XS.

If it worked on the film SLR it will work on the digital (and vice-versa, except for EF-S leses which only work on digital 1.6 crop bodies, except for the 10D).

The Rebel XS will reveal things with that Quantaray you never knew existed when you shot film!

If you don't pixel peep though you'll probably be OK.
