I have two amps in my boat. One runs the tower speakers and one the boat speakers and sub. Both are 600w. The amp that runs the boat speakers seems to get hot only after a few mins. of use. The other is fine. Anyone know why?

Do you have the tower speakers bridged?
How are the amps getting power?
Do you have them separated to the distrabution block?
How are the remote wires hooked up.

We will need a little more data to help you.

Are they both the same manufacturer?

How many tower speakers?

If you are comparing two tower speakers to six boat speakers plus a sub then I am not surprised one gets hotter than the other. Just because the amp is rated at 600 watts doesn't mean that it is delivering it.

I have had the same problem and installed 2 stinger fans for each amp. Its was an inexpensive way and sucked little juice from the batteries, When its hot outside, amps can have a difficult time trying to cool off.
