Which board? Byerly Monarch or CWB Transcend?

I have ridden neither of these boards. I have read the company write-ups and the Wakeworld boards reviews but still want some first-hand experiences. All i hear is that the Transcend for 08 is a killer board. Fewer people have ridden the Byerly Monarch but it appears to be something i would be interested in trying. I am a fair rider at best and either board is going to be WAY beyond my ability level but still i would like a fun board that will make my time on the water more enjoyable even if i am just doing very basic stuff. If anybody can describe the pros and cons of these two boards I would be grateful and it would go a long way in helping me determine which board i want to try next. There are zero board shops in my area so i am going about this blindly. Thanks and Merry Christmas to all of you riders out there.

Monarch all the way. Longer lasting, snappier, lighter. Better

I have the Transcend and love it. I have not ridden the Monarch so can't speak to its characteristics. Because I'm cheap, I would go Transcend (cause you can find one for <$200), and next time you buy, go Monarch if you don't love the Transcend. My bet...you'll stick with whichever one you buy, so why not make it easy on your wallet? :-)

The Monarch is so sick! One of the best boards i have ever rode.. Crazy pop and soft landings.. Plus, Its a Bylery!

I haven't ridden the monarch so i cant talk about it. For the transcend though, I have never heard of anyone in anyway say they were disappointed with buying this board.

I have ridden both. My friend has a CWB transcend and I ride a Byerly Monarch. The Transcend pops well however i feel that is has hard landings in the flats. The transcend feels really stiff when riding. The Monarch has incredible pop and has super soft landings. With the little bit of flex in the Monarch it really snaps off the wake. The Monarch releases fast off the top of the wake. I would go with the monarch. The monarch has a lifetime warranty which is a huge bonus in my books. I saw that this place had the 08 Monarch cheaper.

at 650, I wouldn't exactly call that a steal.

I ride a transcend - great board. I like the landings on it. Good speed, not too slow or fast. Nice rocker, nice release. Solid board.

I ride the 09 monarch right now its badass its fast tones of pop and I haven't broken it yet! I have been riding the marius for 3 years and loved it but the monarchis the sickest board I have ridden... Cwb is a great company and a lot of people love that board its just not my style.

I like the Transcend, I have a hard time picturing a better board. Good edge, good pop and incredibly predictable. The new '09 lands a little softer than the '08 as they extended the center spine to the tip and supposedly it's a little faster. Either way I love mine.

I haven't ridden the Monarch, but have heard great things about it.

The Transcend, is the best board I've ever ridden, though. Tons of pop and I think it lands very smooth. I love the Platinum core, too. Very snappy. Personally I like the feel of a stiff board off the wake, though. I can't complain about anything that board does which is rare. Usually I don't like at least one aspect of a board, but I ride around it because I like the other attributes, but that's not the case with the Transcend. I love that board and can't wait to get my '09.

monarch all the way...super fast and tons of pop. i havent ridden a board that is equally as fast and has as much pop
