I would like to add some front ballast this winter. I don't want it in the walk way to the front. I have seen a couple pics of people with bladders under the bow seats that wrap around. Do they make a special bladder just for that? Could you use old water bed sacs?
I also want to make it automatic, and I don't want to add any holes to my hull. Can I add another pump to the single inlet I have? I have a B52 with the two hull tanks. I think they both draw from the same inlet, and both pump out the same(reversable pumps). Could I change the tee to a 1-to-3 splitter?

Also, I was thinking about doing all this and running the line into the floor ice chest. This way I could just pull the excess line out of the ice chest and insert into the sac. I don't want to mess with a pump over the side. Or would it be easier to just straight plumb it via some other way. If so, where would I run the line so it was hidden?

I know, too many questions. I just need some advice to get me started. Any insight or advice would be great.

Thanks.

Darin,
Congrats on your "smokin' deal" for the B52. They're awesome boats (I'm on my 3rd). I did the exact ballast system that you're looking for on my 02 B52. You'll want the "fly high integrated bow sac" from http://wakeside.com or wherever you can get it. Don't use any other waterbed type sac - they will leak like a pig. I put it on a seperate pump, changed out the switch plate to the "triple up" from the factory, added an overflow right behind one of the front speakers, suction from the bottom of the boat in the engine floor area, and a empty line out the side of the boat. I mounted the pump in the same area as the others in the stern. It works perfect. I can give more info if you want. Pics will take me a little time. Or call John at http://mbboats.com in Lake Elsinore. They do all my upgrades and do a great job.

Darin: I have a 00 wakesetter that has a custom auto front ballast. All I did was T off the locker ballast line, installed a reversible jabsco, then ran the line back into the drivers area behind the dash, up into the cup holder in the front playpen area and into a sack that sits on top of the seats. Everything rolls up and fits into the cupholder when people are in the bow. When the bow doesnt have people I roll the sack out, flip a switch and it fills. When I am done I reverse the switch and it drains back through the same hole. Just pay attention when you fill and drain since there isnt an overflow and you can ruin those reversing pumps if you run them dry.
