I got a fiberglass splinter in my finger from an edge this weekend and then noticed at the end of the weekend that the top coat is starting to peel away and bubble at one edge. There seems to be a clear shell that is starting to crack/break away along one edge right at the seem between the top and bottom.

Is this a common problem and anyone have a suggested fix? Also, I just got this board last season and I am not a heavy rider (3-5 times most weekends in the summer and no rails - all wake jumps and a few spins). Seems to soon to me for this to be happening - any thoughts?

Hyperlite should be able to warranty the board and get a brand new one. Just take it back to the shop you bought the board from.

I have had a lot of experience with Hyperlite and the always value their customers. Since the board is only a year old your dealer should have no problem with helping you out.

Thanks. I am hoping they will. Love the way the board rides, but it's an awfully expense board to be breaking apart this early.

Good news, your board should be taken care of no problem. (unless there is slider damage) You should take this back to the dealer you bought it from and get an RA started. We can usually get you a replacement within the week to keep you on the water as much as possible. If you have any troubles please contact me.

Thanks Corey. I'll take it back to my dealer (Ski Boats Unltd in Chesapeake, VA). Definitely no slider damage - never been on a rail and would be pretty likely to damage myself more than the board!
