The boat we got this year came with an anchor buddy and a box anchor. I have searched but found no instructions on how to properly set the box anchor. Just throw it in? Also, with the anchor buddy in strong winds, wouldn't it just blow around? Thanks in advance.

You just attach the anchor buddy to your bow eye then throw the box anchor over the bow and it will set itself. You are supposed to tie off the rear of the boat also.

You don't have to pull the rope tight to set it?

It sets itself. The anchor buddy stretches out and is used to tie up close to shore with an anchor onshore securing the boat. Here's their website to do soem reading up on the product.
