Its been a while ago but I posted this same question in the boats, modifications, etc. section. I really wasn't comfortable with the answer I got for wakesurfing....so here it goes.

2000 centurion air warrior elite v-drive.

Factory 480lb ballast ( 25 gallon center ballast + full 35 gal tank of gas = 480lbs) kinda sounds like false advertisement huh? anyway...

I have....
- A fixed wakeplate.....I know that sucks.
- Rear port locker - 20 X 20 X 50 about 750lbs.
- Rear starboard locker - 42 X 16 X 16 about 800lbs
- I have another 42 X 16 X 16 sac that Im not using.

** I have thought about adding an integrated bow sac....not sure.

Do I need weight in the front? What about people?.....Of course I do know to put the majority of the weight on the port side.

Question is to you guys out there....What have some of you done with a similar setup to mine? What would be a good configuration to weight this boat for a good surf wake.....Im 6'1" 220lbs. Using a 2008 hyperlite Broadcast......im a beginner.

What's it gonna take to get a good surf wake that will push my @$$?

Had a '03 Hurricane, same hull as the elite. Dump the starboard ballast and either fill it on top of the port seats or put under the seats and fill as much as you can so peeps can sit. Add the last sac up front under the port bow seat.

I used lead and a 250 tube sack under the port seats + 200lbs of lead up front.

The trick is to get that boat leaning as much as you can...get the rub rail in the back near(or under) the water and you should have a nice size wave. My brother is your size and rides the same board with no problem. Oh, crank that trim tab all the way up.

yead i have an 01 with a manual plate, i run a 750 i the port v drive locker a 400 under the the passenger bench and a integrated bow half full in the nose. I fill the bow sac half way and then mess with the bag to get the water to the surf side, and the list of the boat keeps it there.

the key is getting all the weight on one side, even an extra person the starboard side hurts the wake.

We are probably going a little slow in this picture so the wave is a bit longer with more speed.

PUT ALL WEIGHT ON SIDE YOUR SURFING AND CRANK THE MANUAL TRIM TAB ALL THE WAY DOWN. NOT TO MUCH WEIGHT UP FRONT.

I had an '04 Lightning, same hull. Set the manual wakeplate down like DuckDiver says. I ran a FH 750 in the back locker, a 400 under the bench, 270 in bags in the bow, 80 hanging off the tower, and more.

The key for my boat was getting the boat to list over hard.

Without a Bennett Trim tab don't even try the goofy side.
