I'm adding an HSE to my winter list. Two questions.

Do I need the tach controller? I have an 09' Epic with an 8.1 Mercruiser.

Where's the cheapest place to buy it?

Joe,

I'm not sure if you will need the tach signal generator or not. You may want to contact Epic to find out if there is an analog tach signal in the boat or if it is all digital (you need the analog tach signal). If you need a tach signal generator then you can buy one from HSE if you like. Email at sales@hsetrident.com for more details.

HSE can likely tell you exactly where to find the pickup. Last year when I installed mine, he sent me pictures of the wiring harness showing me exactly where to hook it up to. Great customer service.
