I stumbled across this video and I am just in shock as to why no one rushed out to help. He is clearly face down in the water and there is no boats or jetskiers going to his aid.

Doesn't surprise me with how kids are these days. Announcer... "He's okay just trying to get his breath back" ... Yeah, looks like by breath back he means lungs full of water. Looked to me like he was in trouble.

Makes me mad how the announcer tells everyone the rider is ok.

And just how are kids these days Cory? How does age factor into that?

IMHO i think the announcer did the right thing by saying "hes ok, just trying to get his breath back". think about it, if the crowd started gettin all hyped up then you would have a ton of people causing chaos to get to him not to mention a lot of commotion from other people freaking out. the video only showed a clip of about 5 seconds after the fall so you really cant tell the real situation

When he first fell looked like he was floating upright, then he must have fallen face first. Also the announcer said, "he is ok, we are going to go pick him up", so someone was on their way to help him.

hmmm.. right when he fell you can see that he actually pops back up and shakes his head like to clear his head?? I dont know?? that wasnt long enough to really think he was knocked out considering it looked like he was upright and shook his head

Ben, kids these days are immature and don't act up when they should. Many don't do anything becuase they've come to expect "it's someone else's problem" or "someone else will do it". If not then it's a general lack of consideration for others (take the boat of teens on dad's boat powerturning when there's other folks trying to ride, throwing huge wake passing right next to fishermen, beating on the boat in general, etc.)

By your profile, I'm only a few years older than you and even a lot of my friends who are my age are that way, while other I know have grown up a bit.

I find it hard to ignore someone who obviously needs help, and I know a lot of folks (I'd wager most on this site) feel the same way. Over the years I've seen a lot of inaction and indifference on part of the younger kids compared to older folks. That's what I mean, and age factors in simply from my observations of when someone needs help and who acts. Perhaps I'm wrong.

Since the video is cut you can't tell anything.

I'm 17. I've taking the boat out by myself all summer. my parents own the boat. But I've never done a power turn. I'm always respectful to other boaters. We have ran out of gas on the lake and people didn't even take gas money because they knew who we were and said were polite, good, and respectful kids. The video was cut. It makes it confusing on what is actually happening
