Anyone using one of these handles? I'm thinking about getting one and just wondering how they hold up. I usually end up tearing the foam handles up pretty fast and have no experience with the LG handles. I don't really want to have to buy a new one every few months. They feel great though.

I just started using one this season and love it so far! Very comfortable grip and super easy to coil up.

I was concerned when I read "it doesn't float", but it takes 3-4 hours of constant use to start submerging. When I see it looking more like a lure than a handle, I bring it, hold it up side down and shake all the water out. Then its good to go for 3-4 more hours.

I got one last weekend. I've only used it two days but so far I love it and so do the other riders on my boat. I had been using a Straight Line handle with dual density grip. I liked it but the seam kept separating after only a few days' use. It had a replaceable bar and I was on my third one when it tore, too. Basta! Plus, some of my crew didn't care for the feel of it anyways and started to bring their own rope and handle.

With the new Proline LG, everyone on the boat is happy. Very comfortable.

Its very comfy, but the problem I have had with them is that the padding underneath the "leather" grip gets worn down pretty easily. I am on my second one and and both of them have done this. Overall I will probably never go back to EVA grips as I love the feel of the leather grip when wet, its soft and tacky when its wet.

I think they fixed the problem with the foam breaking down on the 06 handles. The 07 seems to be holding up pretty good for me so far. The leather is getting a little loose but not too bad. Definitely the most comfortable handle I have ever used and they are good about the warranties if you do have problems.

Problems should all be fixed - I'm on my 3rd (warrantied) and traded out for the LG2 - the larger diameter handle. I love the thicker grip... same handle, floats better, feels better...

They foam should be holding up now - I know what you're talking about as I have two in my garage... No worries as CWB will take care of you.

My 07 LG floats and I've enjoyed it thus far...probably ridden it 15 days give or take. Considerably cheaper than a lot of the other options as well.

They most certainly did fix the earlier issues. Its hard to beat that LG combo package. I think they were selling at the boat shot for $99, thats just crazy cheap. You guys should also check out Proline's new Synthesis handle. That thing is awesome. A little more traditional but with a unique grip, perfect!!

"we got 2 in the boat"

...and we left a brand new loaner somewhere on the bank between Dos Reis and Mossdale in case anyone wants to give the LG a try.

When are they going to make a surf handle version?

Yeah CWB is good as far as warranties go, like I said I am on my second one and supposedly they kinks had been worked out on it but still it is starting to wear down. But its all good because it is comfy as hell and I NEVER have any problems with my hands getting sore from riding anymore

I'm getting sick of blisters on my hands and getting all torn up from my knobby Murray handle getting ripped out on hard falls. Looks like the LG is a favorite...

One thing, how long/number of sections is the mainline that comes with the handle/line combo? It looks like a better deal to just pick up both instead of just the handle, since at this point my Jacket line has gone from being tangle-free from never untangled.

The combo length is 80ft total, 75ft of it is line with four 5ft sections.

Anyone that has used both, do you prefer the thicker diameter grip or the standard?
