What opinions are out there on the 2 diffrent roam shapes. The old shape (05 and earlier) vs the new shape (06, 07). I have seen video of guys ripping wake to wake on the old shape but nothing on the new shape.

I have seen them used as great tools for progessing with spins and either can be had for under $200. I would like to carve around on the surface as well as go wake 2 wake.

What one should I get?

The new hyperlite video has a lot of clips of the new roam being used, I'm sure youtube has clips or something...
i haven't used a new one, but they look more flexy except the shape looks really lame, to much like a snowboard, I love my old one

i have been riding the roam only and havent touched another board since it came out in 05. i ride wake and rails. the new shape is way better. it has better pop, the flex is better and can be controlled better. everything is better on the new shape.
