supra bimini top in shreds..

so it was the third or fourth time I had taken my boat out, and it was getting dark so i put my boat on the trailer and forgot completely about putting my bimini top up and got about 30 miles down I-30 before I thought to myself, oh SH*•••••••• in shreds now... Anyone else do this? Or am i alone in this stupid puddle of tears and shreds.. Anyone have any idea how much they are?

how fast were you going? I am kind of surprised it did anything.... Go to any upholstery shop and they should be able to make you one. You still have the fram right? So you just need the subbrella material. Should not be too bad on price...

well I was goin bout 75.. yeah i still have the frame, ill try that but its bad looks a bit like a black mop.. not sure if all the zippers are even on it still.

I've done it(WOULD'NT RECOMEND IT). Never had a problem. But I sure as hell dont drive 75 while towing...

Advice from someone who was once 22 and drove too fast and forget things like the bimini...

SLOW DOWN...it will actually save you time and money in the long run. You can probably get a new Sunbrella for around $200 to $250.

Call the dealership and see if you can order just a new canvas piece.

If not, there is a guy here in Dallas that will do it in Sunbrella for around $200 to $250.

At 75 you have 4X the load on the bimini that you do when your at 33, unless you pass a truck or something that adds some extra load.
At 75 you have about 3X more load on the fabric than you do at the top speed of your boat.
But you can get new fabric that's pretty nice if the frame didn't get bent.

Mine has a small tear in it and I pull mine all over the place at 65 to 70mph. it is a supra with the one forward facing bar. The rear zips to the tower. Maybe I am just lucky.

If your Supra bimini is like my Moomba bimini, it's made by Sunbrella. I left my bimini up on my drive home from Joe Pool. Although, I never got above 35mph. That sucks man. Good luck getting a replacement.
