Heyyy...Jeffy G!
We're all staying at the Econo Lodge.
Click on the Econo Lodge picture on www.njwakefest.com for info.
If they tell you they're full, ask about the suites. They're a little more money, butt they're nicer anyway.
Make sure it's the Econo Lodge on 206 next to Chickie & Pete's.

Personally, it was a big Saturday of wakeboarding this Saturday, starting in the morning on
The Super Air in Bordentown, then towing straight down to The Rancocas to board and surf (and tube) behind
JB's Mighty Malibu. Good good times.

Anyone know if you have to preregister for wakefest? Also what is the schedule? Any Pros?
Old     (nj_alex)      Join Date: Aug 2002       06-01-2009, 6:51 AM Reply
Hey Don: It's not a contest, so there's no registration. It's a festival style gathering. Unfortunately, there
won't be any pros this year. For the second year in a row Wakefest falls on the same weekend as Bro Stock.
Schedule? Come early, hang-out all day, bring your boat if you have one, if not try to hook yourself up with
a pull, hourly raffles in the afternoon, then right after Wakefest head over to local eatery Chickie's & Pete's
for a Red Bull sponsored after-party featuring TWO videos premieres: Hyperlite's new team video "Rewritten"
and a highlights video from many of the recent and very cool Red Bull Wake Lab events. There will be Red Bull
drink specials and maybe some Red Bull menu special. It's going to be a great time. And dont forget to buy
some limited edition event t-shirts and hoodies!

If any one still needs a room at The Econo Lodge, I know some one who has a reservation for Friday and Saturday
night for a room with one queen sized bed that is no longer needed. Jeffy G, if you don't have your room yet
this is a great opportunity. If anyone's interested in this, email me.

Late yesterday afternoon Ken,Steve and I hit the river. Other then the Titusville crew we had the entire river to ourselves. The water was glass and there was really no one anywhere. We each got 4 sets in and then pulled out at 8:40 pm. Here are a couple pics of last night. I don't have any pics of Steve cause we took his pics with his camera.Upload

Hey everyone! Checking in from boring Omaha, Nebraska where I'm here for a client conference. The only positive I can pull out of this state is they have some damn good beef! I'm bummed about not getting to ride that much but hopefully JB and I can hook up during the week when I get back. Nice pics Doreen! That camera is awesome. Everyone is getting amped for wakefest and I am too. It's sad though that I'm only going to get one more weekend in June as a chance to board. Alex, book me for the weekend of the 20th-21st of June is you're going riding. It's the next weekend I will be available .

Hey Jeff Z., how'd the rehab go? Are you back to 100%? Looking forward to seeing you next weekend.

Anyone heard from Kelly? (or did I miss a post from her. I didn't scan through everything).

Woke up at 5:30 this morning with a really bad vodka hangover and almost didn't go out cause I was really sick. But I tuffed it out and I'm glad I did cause the water and the weather today were awesome. We had flat water from 8 til about 12:30. I landed my first ever toe side wake to wake jump today!! Practiced a little switch riding and also landed a few toe side single wake 180's. Beth and I had a great day on the water with Ken and Kelly.

Can't wait to see everyone at wakefest.

Jim B, That's what I'm talkin about (toe side wake to wake)!

Justin, not 100%... But good enough to hold onto the rope. Haven't fallen yet, tried and succeeded on my first and only handle pass 3 today.

No weight yet, no inverts yet, Keepin it safe. I love icy hot.

Hey all! Long time-no post. :-)
Had a great time saturday with Woody, Theresa, Ryan, Kyle, Tyler, and John. Probably the best water conditions ever for a saturday, no wind and no boats.
Today I drove out to Blue Marsh lake in Reading PA to meet John E. and his gang for some sessions behind his V-ride. (Jim B and George should remember this place from October 2006) Here's a few pics:

Jim, the conditions were great for the first 2 hours, then boat traffic took its toll on the glassy water. I'd say a great lake to ride from sunrise until around 10:30am then forget it.
(My first pic was actually taken at noon when I was leaving, notice all the boats running around) The 2nd pic was the butter at 8:30am.

Congrats on the TS W2W! See you saturday

Hey Eva: I saw your post on www.wakeboardnj.com too!
And like I suggested there, come to The New Jersey Wakefest this Saturday, June 13.
It's a great opportunity to meet and hang-out with tons of wakeboarders from NJ/NY/PA area.
And if you want some top-shelf instruction, including a pull behind a really excellent boat,
check-out The Wake Academy, which is only a short drive from Philadelphia.
See you at Wakefest!

www.njwakefest.com
www.thewakeacademy.com

In other news, there's going to be THREE premieres at the "Wakefest After Dark" after-party:
Red Bull's "Wake Lab" Billabong's "Out of the Pond" and Scene One Productions' "Fun Boots."
A thousand thank yous to Red Bull, Hyperlite and Sidewayz for making these premieres possible.

What It Do people?? Usually this thread is on fire the week of wakefest. Wake up people!!!!

Beth and I will be there at 6am. Cant wait to see everyone. We decided to get a room 1 mile down the road at the Best Westeren.

Dooreen and Annette save me a good raffle ticket. LOL

I know Jim. For whatever reason(s) the ol' Jersey thread ain't what she used to be.

I've heard from a crew coming-in from Pittsburgh who'll be looking for a pull if anyone has any room.
I know the Virginia Tech Boys are coming, and Jason Stedner is now a dealer of some sort of paddle-out surf
boards, and he's going to have a display and will be letting people demo his boards.

The Wakefest t-shirts have arrived and they're really cool! There are also, tank tops, hoodies and girls tanks.
No long sleeve tees this year.

The weather is supposed to be nice and it's going to be a great day. Wakefest #4! Let's get the party started!
Eeeeeee haaaa!

Everybody...come to the main tent and make sure you buy your raffles from me! There are limited hoodies as well so get to the main tent and make sure you buy one before they sell out.

Every weather forecast I've see for Saturday is calling for a beautiful day. I'm not a religious man, but, Amen.
This year the Red Bull waverunners ar going to be operated by Red Bull pro surfers. One will be shuttling riders
out to hit the LHM slider and the other will be cruising around with a Red Bull girl on the back going boat-to-boat
handing-out Red Bulls. We may try a different set-up configuration with the Red Bull tent this year, but even
at this late hour we're still working that out. Friends, we may not have any pro riders coming, but that doesn't
matter. This is gonig to be the best Wakefest yet!

hard all day. It's now about 9:45pm and I think everything's ready to go. At this point I've done all I
can do. Now Wakefest just has to do its thing. Despite being a work day at 60 Sylvia with Connor, Doreen and
I, we had visits from Jeff Z and Sarah, Cara & Ty and Justin, Michele and Killian. We broke bread, Drank
a few toasts and killed a few cigars. Good times.

See you at Wakefest!

Wow! It was another great Wakefest! Yes, we dealt with a couple of passing showers, but Wakefest people
(wakeboarders in general, actually) are hardy dedicated people, and everyone stuck it out and it was a great time!
Thanks to the Wakefest crew making it all possible, thanks to all the super-cool sponsors for supporting this
crazy annual event, and the biggest thanks to everyone who came down and made Wakefest great. Because it's really
the people who come down and hang-out that make Wakefest what it's grown to be. Oh yeah! Let's do it again
next year!

Memories of Wakefest 09....

Pulling up at 5:50 am and seeing what a sheet of glass the river was.

The humity level at 6am.

How hard the early morning crew worked to get it all set up. As usual you all rock.

7:50 am riding that sheet of glass with KG.

Seeing old friends and meeting a bunch of new faces.

Not everyone saw it but the jacka$$ on the jetski that crashed into the slider and then at the dock crashed into his girlfriends jetski. LOL what a moron.

Ryan and his crew with their awesome slider. Great expo guys.

Paul Bart the mall cop in the yellow shirt guarding the dock.

All the RedBull and vodka I drank.

The 2 great new movies we saw. I had seen the red bull 1 before on fuel tv but the other 2 where great.

The giant Denny's breakfest we had the next morning.

Beth and I had a great time. We did pretty good in the raffles. I really wish we would have won one of those Harris stays cause Beth and I could use a little get away. A HUGE Thanks to all the sponsers who came out and supported the NJ wake scene. Thanks to everyone who came out and spent the day with us. Thanks to all of our usual crew members who helped out with the early morning set up and who worked all day in the tents and at the grill. Thanks to all of our family members for putting up with our addiction to wakeboarding and wakefest. And last but not least thank you Alex for all you do to make Wakefest what it was and what it has become. See you all on the water!!

Another wakefest has passed and what an awesome time it was as usual. Everyone worked so hard to make it happen and you all did a wonderful job, thanks for the help. And of course to all of the people who came out to support the event and the sponsors who donated schwag we thank you also. Alex, you are the man! Another successful wakefest under your belt. You should quit your job and become a full-time wakefest planner/coordinator for the eastcoast.

www.wakefestplanners.com hmmmm!!

I was even more happy I was able to get in a set on John Keenan's boat. Thanks for the pull!

What a great event! We had an awesome time.

The wakeboarding was also really fun. It was not very hard to find good water. Thanks to Kyle and Doug for taking us out on the X-Star!

Below are some of the photos I took at the event. I put all of the photos in the http://www.wakeboardpittsburgh.com photo gallery.

Hey Kyle: Thanks for making the pilgrimage to New Jersey and thanks or posting these great pictures! If you
don't mind, I'm going to use some of them on the event website (once I get my sorry butt around to updating it).
And you posted pictures to the Wakefest blog! Excellent!

Yes, the Tranquil Mayhem boys, PJ Hahn and Alex Borg (resistence is futile!) were talking this up at Wakefest.
They had me plug it on the mic, and they wanted to stress that it's a "gathering" without any sort of organized
land-based activities like Wakefest. It's just straight forward people meeting at a launch area and going out to ride.
But you know what? That's exactly how Wakefest got its start!}

I am new to the East Coast. Where does everyone ride? I just moved to Plainsboro NJ from the land of 10,000 wakes (Minnesota) Looking forward to see what the wakeboard scene has to offer out here. If anyone has room in the boat for one or two, please let me know.

Nate
