Hey all Im a rookie on WW, but was just wondering how it is to fold the zft3 tower. We have covered lift and need to fold the tower DAILY. Ive heard its a pain in the ass to fold by yourself

Would it be easier to just extend the canopy? or look for a stripped 2012 with the ZFT2? (I know how simple the zft2 is)

Were looking at a 09 or 10 x2, but maybe willing to exend to a option deprived 2012

Im just looking for some outside opinions and criticism. Feel free to bash it all you want

Thanks

Its not fun. I have the very similar ZFT1 on my X1. 6 knobs, and a very heavy center section to lower. I can't imagine how much worse it will be with tower speakers on it, or the added weight from the spinning board racks that the ZFT3 comes with...

It is not very handy..... I wouldn't want to deal with it every time. That being said, I love the looks of the ZFT-3, and I would lift my canopy, and put side extensions on it.

I've got the zft3 on my 2008 star with all the goodies. It's heavy and complicated to lower. I wouldn't want to do it every day. There are two wires to unplug, then several twist knobs, undo large clamps and fold front arms forward being careful not to scratch anything. Then clean and jerk the main tower back down on the sun pad. Put something under it because it sits on the vinyl. That part requires two people to do it safely. It's frickin heavy.

Having said that it's a great tower IMO. It's solid as hell and has an unmistakable look that I like. I made sure I had a place to store it with enough clearance that I never have to take it down.
