Any Epic ppl. on here? I am thinking about a '01 s22, the price is right @ $19,000 and I really like the looks/fit/finish of the boat. Whats the wake like? If anyone has pics, I'd love to see em. Or if you've ridden behind one and can comment, that'd be great.

I'm not sure about this but I think parts are hard (possibly impossible) to find for these boats. Including engine parts. I know there is a very active Toyota Boats forum some where.... check it out.

^^^ I've owned one, not true. The boats are reliable as hell, 99.7% of parts are off-the-shelf. Check out www.epicmarine.com for lots of good info about these boats. My last boat was an Epic and it was an absolutely amazing boat... not one real problem in 4 years and 500 hours of ownership. d-drive burns 3 gph under load.

Sounds like one hell of a deal at that price.

Forgot to comment on the wake. I owned a d-drive but spent a lot of time behind the v-drive too. The v-drive throws a nice, clean, rampier wake with a longer transition.

I think you'll find some v-drive wake pics on www.epicmarine.com.

S22 and SX22 are the v-drives. Epic 22 (E22) and X22 are d-drives. Epic 21 (E21) is a closed bow 21 foot d-drive ski boat.

$19k for a v-drive does sound like a great deal.

I agree with Cal. My E22 is very reliable and fuel efficient. The engine delivers great performance. You've seen the fit and finish which is competitive with many new boats from today, almost a decade later.
