Does anyone know if there is a school, or just a place to go and board in Maui? I am leaving tomorrow morning.

Call R&R Surf and Ski on Oahu and ask them. They'll know who is doing what and where in Hawaii.

No wakeboarding that I know of.... Now Kite Boarding is a different story. Lot's of shops and instruction. There is a beach located close to the airport that is a dedicated Kite Boarding area. If you dont want to take a lesson, it's worth checking it out anyway...

Paul Let me know what you find out there. I'm headed out there in late January.

In Kaui they wakeboard on the Wailua river. It's about like wakeboarding on the Canyon Lake backwater, similar size. As a bonus you can blow away the tourists that pass by on the boats on the Fern Groto tour LOL Ther are one or two companies that you can hook up with for pulls. I am not sure about the local scene, or if you have to be a licensed operator to get a boat on there or not. Maybe someone else on WW knows.

Nothing for wakeboarding on Maui but if you're on Oahu, contact my brother Reid at Wakeboards Hawaii (formerly RNR Surf & Ski) at hwpa.hawaii.rr.com. He doesn't run a wakeboard school anymore but if he has time, maybe he can hook you up with a pull or at least put you in contact with a local rider to get a set.

Aloha, Ryan

If someone wanted to go to Hawaii for a trip with wakeboarding, what island and where should they go?

TConway,
Either Oahu or Kauai, Oahu has a few spots to ride (all salt water) and Kauai is done on the Wailua River (fresh & brackish water). My brother Reid owns Wakeboards Hawaii. Contact him at the email above if you're going to Oahu.

Aloha

Thanks you guys. I just got back. Didn't do any boarding, but did get in some surfing. I would post pics, but we didn't buy any from the guy who took them. We all looked like dorks. I think I would like to move there!
