Made up my mind to give the new one shape a try. Rode the old shape liked the pop just to tight on the water to me and heard the new shape was faster and loose/more playful. I am 6'4" tall and slim at 190 lbs. I know everyone on here says the bigger the better but the guys at performance ski told me it is all about weight not height and the 146 one is insanely huge for really heavy guys. Since the new shape has more surface area they recommended the 142. I know I could ride both just wondering what would be the best. I was thinking of trying to get a good deal on a time bomb in a 146 that way it would be huge but light. Right now I am on a witness 144 and it does feel a tad big heavy and slow on the water.

I rode a 146 One ATR then switched to a 142 .... I liked the 142 better and I am slightly larger than you (6.2 - 210) .... Easier to control the 142 in the air ... but that was just my experience.... I ended up switching back to my old LF Watson 142 .... But if by any chance if you are looking for a good deal on a 142 Ronix one 2012 Madallo I have one .... used one time and I decided to stick with a liquid force
Selling it for 250.00 PM if interested

I used to ride a "10 One 146. This year I switched to a Timebomb 142. The new shape is so much better than the 09-11 model. Every complaint that there was about the pervious shape was addressed with the current model. I really didnt notice just how big the 146 is until I started riding the 142. You wouldn't think 4cm would make much difference but I think it does. Less swing weight on the surface and in the air.

I enjoy the '146 Timebomb over the '10 142 ATR. I don't have any problem with the swing weight, and my landings wake to wake and in the flats are more comfortable. I am 5'10" 215. The timebomb is looser and a little faster in my opinion. I haven't ridden better on any other board including an '09 Watson, and '10 ATR. I ride heigher in the water which makes aggressive and mellow edges easier without having to increase the boat speed. It is obviously a personal opinion when buying the right board for you. If you have a chance demo the bigger board do it. If it is not what you like, there is your answer. Just my .02.

I actually have the same issue, but between the 138 and 142. I'm 6'3" and weigh 178. Not sure which way makes since...

Height has a huge factor in the length you choose, not just weight. It you're tall, you'll more than likely have bigger feet, you'll have much more leverages on edges....etc,etc.

I'm in the camp of bigger is better. I'm 6'1" and around the 200lbs mark and would jump on the 146. Will be upgrading to the new Ronix Schnook board next and will be very happy on the 146 of that.
