I am sitting at work day dreaming about my next boat purchase and I have a question. Is it possible to install around 1500 lbs of ballast in a direct drive and make it completely hidden? I really like the affordability / ease of maintenence of direct drives when compared to V-drives and I think if I could keep all of the sacs hidden I would be happy with the room in the direct drive. Lead would be an option but only 3 or 400lbs because I dont want to haul more than that back and forth to the lake. The two boats I was thinking about are a 2000ish Supra Launch or a 96 or newer MC 205.

Joshua,

are you putting 300 in that rear flip up trunk? I was told it messed up the gas tank if you put a lot of wieght in there? Have you had issue with that?
